Amanda is mom's Art/Spiritual friend and I love it when she holds me. She is so gentle and her hands are beautiful. She is an artist and recognizes my inner talents. Amanda doesn't get to visit very often, but when she comes, she and Mom have wonderful talks which usually include me getting held and praised for my many virtues. I love Amanda.

Chai Denies All Knowledge

Chai looked up at Mom, shreds of paper towel stuck between his sharp teeth and adamantly refused to have any knowledge as to what happened to the roll.  "But, Chai, you STILL have it in your mouth!" she reminded him. " Nuh-UH!" he roared!  The bengal's my homeboy but even a guinea pig wouldn't fall for that one!
"You would make a good politician, Boyo!" said mom, pulling the roll of paper towels out of his mouth.

Chai, a Bengal cat, befriended me immediately after Mom brought me home. He loved to snuggle and comfort me, taught me how to feel safe, warm and loved. We had many adventures together during my "walkabouts" out of the cage and his fur was more like a deep, velvet pelt that I could melt into. He got real sick and missed his girlfriend, Sami, a tortie cat who lives with Mom's boyfriend in Seattle. He finally moved in with them and got well. I missed him so much, she brought me home a baby Abyssinian piggie named YumYum. His feet are like rabbit feet and he loves to jump and hump now that he has come into boyhood. He is not allowed in my hidey-hole anymore because I don't like him humping my snout so now he has his own cage and mom calls him a "one pig circus act" because of the jumping, rumblestrutting, and tearing up of everything he can rip. I miss Chai.

My Submission

My name is PandaPig and I am a Peruvian guinea pig who was rescued in the spring of 2009. A lot has happened in my life since then and Mom thought I might feel better if I started journaling. She said I would receive suppport from other guinea pigs who understand exactly what I am going through since I asked Mom if we could rescue other piggies like me...but they can be very annoying. I want to be a good pig, a spiritual pig, but the baby will hump anything that moves and then on Christmas Eve, an older, wise guinea pig arrived but he is as big as a beaver! I once had Mom all to myself and my best friend was a Bengal cat named Chai. Now I live in a tribe of piggies who all have different histories and habits and sometimes drive me crazy! You know? So, Mom thought creating this blog would help me understand and feel more compassion for those who have taken some of her attention away from me. This is my first entry.
