WHAT THE CAT SAID

TODAY MOM FOUND HOPE

Mom was having a rough day, so she headed out on the trail with her four-wheeled walker and camera. She did not feel well and was sad for "people reasons."

We all did our very best to cheer her up: YuYum even ate carrots on her lap, purring and loving her, but she needed to move about. And YumYum got slightly bored once the carrots were consumed.

On the trail she met a young girl who adopted a dog for Christmas from the Whatcom Humane Society, a brindle boxer/lab mix puppy who had been abandoned to die, along with 5 siblings, in a back alley by an owner who thought they were ugly. Dumped shortly after birth they were discovered by some kind  soul who took them to the shelter.

This young girl is so loved by her dog! And so grateful someone found him worth loving: Rescues are special that way. He still has sadness in his eyes, but after a long conversation with this young lady, Mom realized with children like her in the world loving dogs like him, we are all going to be all right. This made her so happy she came home and gave us carrots! And we can tell that lap time will be plentiful tonight!  WHEEK! Happy.

Good morning, all you Olympic readers! We just found out Edwin is planning to return to Vancouver for ONE more historic experience and this is gonna be WILD! It will be the men's short track relay. So here's some tweets and twitters from Apolo as he prepares for his upcoming 500 meter race followed on Friday by the relay: CHAOS ON ICE, humans, CHAOS ON ICE where ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, humans, and IT WILL! THRILLS, SPILLS, CHILLS, and even guinea pigs love this race because even though we don't understand what is happening we know that none of you human spectators do, either, and we aren't even sure if the skaters know.

We hope Edwin makes it and can tell us all about it for all you dedicated readers. The Olympics are drawing to a close soon, and spring is nearly upon us, so our blogging will change from heroic athletes and impossible screw-ups (do not even ASK about what happened to the Dutch speedskater headed for gold in the 10,000 meter...it's too...well, don't ask, please, or about the cross-country skier also headed for gold who accidentally took a wrong turn off the course headed towards the finish line.

Just goes to show humans aren't perfect and we guinea pigs feel compassion for you! But, wow, when you humans screw up on the International Stage, you really do make a big show of it...we're not sure if the Dutch speedskating coach is going to seek asylum on another planet in a galaxy far, far away but he must be considering that right about now; poor little dears, you humans! We love you anyway.
