"MOVING? NOT ON MY WATCH!"

"We like it here, we are happy, we are staying, and we will find a way, case closed, period, hasta la vista, baby, to all doomsayers!" p.s. we're finding mom a good ole fashion ambulance-chasing lawyer!
Couple a letters from him and maybe her doctors might discover they actually DO have the TIME to check the little boxes that would get her a motorized wheelchair, scooter, and things she needs to live independently
and get to the market (only 2 blocks away - geez! but uphill) for our treats!  We are gonna kick some
medical BUTT and Kick It Good!  We here, we may seem queer, so we just sneer, get away from here!
WE WILL SURVIVE!

CAN'T TOUCH THIS!

Favorite Zen Saying: "Fall down seven times, get up eight."

Mom could not do this on her own but she got us, friends, and MODS: we shall RISE AGAIN! WheeeeeK! We loves our Rebellions! Wheeeeek!!!!

If We Move Back to Seattle...

Dear Friends, if we need to move back to Seattle to get mom closer to health care, we'll be a lot closer to Love-Care, too!

OUR "BOTTOM SHELF OF ALL THINGS ORGANIC, SWEET, AND DELICIOUS!"

Dear Readers, this is one well-stocked fridge. The upper-top green bottle flanked by yoghurt is actually ginger ale,
not beer. All that fresh produce on the bottom?
For guess who?! WHEEK! Us, of course! Mom has to slice our blueberries and grapes in half for us, though. And she isn't using a knife anymore
so we're going in for the watermelon and greens.

Unfortunately, we had a severe heat wave recently and our brand new fridge got its FREAK ON and froze everything! We love our new home...Never a dull moment in the City of Belling'Hamsters when you are a guinea pig!

Update on mom: not recovering well, and we face possible relocation to Seattle for more comprehensive Neurological Care.
Just thought we'd slip it in before we retreat back into denial. Never speak of it again, agreed?

Edwin is here being wonderful, and Molly's Owl box had us howling this morning as Carrie devoured such a big rat butt that there was not even room left in her for the tail, which hung out of her mouth like a wilted cigar for an agonizingly long time! We think it was actually a small opossum, judging from the size of it, which was bigger than she is! This was around 4:30am? What a PIG that girl is turning out to be, GEEZ!

Our lives are pretty up in the air right now, but we have all fought the good fight and if we lose our way of life, so be it.
The main thing in life is love, and we are suffused in Goodness and Love, grapes and watermelon.

We remain humbled by the MODs' saving of mom's life Friday night, an amazing story for sure, and one we want to tell Carlos and Donna one day when mom is stronger and less mortified! Thank God for the social stream Black Sheep at Molly's Owl Box! Black Sheep Rule Cyberspace and planet Earth!

Life is Beautiful, even if our fridge froze!
And, after Carrie's consummation of that fat, long-tailed rodent this morning, mom can never call US "pigs" EVER AGAIN! We're glad WE don't have tails!

Yeah, another reason that Life is Beautiful!

SECRET ARCHIVES UNCOVERED!

Oh my! We have been missing PandaPig and thinking so much about him and Bear the Beaver Pig that we began sorting through his research today and what we uncovered is deeply disturbing...so much so it must be revealed!

PandaPig was a visionary: rescued from a local feed store after being "dumped" in a filthy cage and long neglected,
Panda Pig not only founded our Sanctuary and Blog, but, we just discovered he had secretly been researching the
relationship between owls and dinosaurs, in particular: Velociraptors!

Only months after our dear PandaPigs's passing, we all became addicted to Molly's Owl Box: first one brood, and now her second.

But is there more to the story?

PandaPig suspected there was, and the subject of his inquiry is now intriguing us enough to consult with experts
and post their findings right here on our own blog because, as disturbing as truth can be, birds are not only direct
descendents of dinosaurs, THEY ARE LIVING DINOSAURS and one look at an owlet, who can argue?

PandaPig, our beloved Panda...we are determined to carry on the work so began in secret, now uncovered, because
we must save the world from Dinosaur Birds disguised in pure, adorable, addictive Cuteness. Are we still MODS?
Oh yes, but we know now what that implies...far more than an addiction to adorableness, we are actually being
fooled by cute propaganda! Common Barn Owls? WE THINK NOT!

READ ON, MY FRIEND, AND BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID!

but they really are adorable...those owlets!

Truth About Dinosaurs and Birds

This and the following pic of the Molly's owlets are courtesy of Candles from the blog, MODS, which you can click on to
if you look to the right, because it's one of our favorites and, once more I ask you: are these pink creatures REALLY baby barn owls? I mean, REALLY....or baby veloptosaurs>is that a real thing, veloptosaurs?

MOM'S "STYLE"

Dear Readers,

Good morning. Since mom sick, we can snitch and gossip! When she still lived in Iowa, she looked this's women in her favorite "wish" catalog. When she moved to the Great Pacific Northwest, she looked like Burly Mountain Girl, Burly Mountain-Bike Girl,  Backpacking/HikerGirl, Burly Speedskating Girl, whatever! ya gets da picture, right? Outside, all the time.

Then stupis go fall down: Uh-Oh! Bump head bad. Six weeks later, fall down AGAIN. Bump head, SAME EXACT PLACE (can ya believe it?!) Worse:  Now she Urban Art Farmer and wears overalls from the thrift shop to play with us!

But she won't let us take a picture since we want to eat the camera and if it not taking pictures of us, we don't care anyway.

So, mom is OUT. Indefinitely. But her MOD friend just sent pic of her'HamsterSelf standing in middle of big, giant,
organic cornfield and mom been emailing Underwater Flooded Iowa friends...

If this makes no sense we really don't care because guinea pigs just wanna dance and WHEEEEK!

love,
YumYum

WE LOST LITTLE KELLY LAST NIGHT

Dear Readers and MOD family, loved ones, and guinea pig Nation,

Early this morning Raj, Taj, mom, and I watched for hours as owlet Kelly fought for, and lost, her little life. Towards the end, before she left, after Molly had lifted her up a few times and carried her around for a bit, she tweeted weakly to Molly who looked down at her, talked back in their special owl language, Kelly issued a few more barely audible "good bye, I love you" tweets, and then she was gone.

We are all crying because we also recently lost our best friends, Panda Pig, who raised me, slept with me, loved me, kept me warm through the winter, and also Bear, the Beaver Pig, rescued dying on Christmas Eve who actually got well and healthy for a few more months, gave us so much love, then passed only 3 days after PandaPig last April.

So, yes, guinea pigs do grieve. We can actually die of grief, as many animals can, and mom (having not slept and now kind of in a crying coma) will be resting today as she actually became acutely ill yesterday morning, so we sweet piggies are taking good care of her now. Our friend, Eric, is writing a book called "The Ghost Plane" and we are now calling mom "The Ghost Brain!"

We joke and kid a lot here, but today we choose to be silent and celebrate Kelly's short, beautiful life while remembering our
own precious loved ones who passed so recently. Because I bonded so closely with PandaPig, I bite everyone who is not him, which is
all the other guinea pigs, so I cannot runabout and play with them or cuddle with them and - it's funny - last night while mom cleaned my cage and I was on Runabout (before Kelly died) I actually felt very, very lonely for someone to play with, chase, and cuddle...mom noticed. She considered giving me a chance in the future with the Mahals when we have the whole apartment to runabout in, not just our pen, then decided against it because she simply cannot protect them and her hand surgeon does NOT
want to see her again with one of my "tattoos" bleeding and infected...so I am sadder and lonelier. NOTE: i never bit mom on purpose, she simply put her hand into my choppers as I was airborne enroute to take a chomp off Bear the gentle Beaver Pig and my teeth became accidentally embedded into mom's hand (still in the air, me hanging) so i's not a people biter, just that nobody is Panda and so I bite them. I don't mean to be that way, but we rescues are a peculiarly-behaving bunch, and perhaps I will settle down and learn to "play nice" because the Mahals seem to have fun when they do.

Today we honor the short, sweet life of Kelly, and celebrate the lives we have all been given and the love we so liberally enjoy together as a family.

Please refer to Molly's Blog and the MOD blog links to the right for more on Kelly, Molly, MOD's, and the poignant, heart-breaking beauty of nature.

love,
a gentler YumYum today

LIL ASHLEY PLAYS PEEK-A-BOO BENEATH MOLLY'S WING

Dear Readers,

We have decided that the baby owlets, who can barely hold their little bobbleheads up, resemble dinosaur birds, not owls.
We understand people calling them owlets, but that gigantic pink beak attached to that pink head attached to a gumby-
like body is NOT a bird! Cute, ok, just NOT a BIRD!

Nonetheless, here is our friend Carmy's shot of Ashley poking out from beneath mom Molly's protective wing, as if to say:
"It is I. It is ME. I AM ASHLEY! Here I am!" before she face-plants, ker-THUNK back into the gag-shag carpet of Molly's
Owl Box!

Crazy little dinosaur!

Love,
YumYum
P.S. the pink, winged head lying in front of Molly is Ashley's sister, see, NOT a bird!
