You will be forever loved, forever missed, forever cherished, forever kissed.
For all you endured we never once heard a complaint, nor were we aware of the pain and suffering you silently endured while smiling at us through those shiny, yearning-to-love-and-be-loved eyes...How blessed were we by your love! Fly free, little dove, without the weight and heaviness of a disintegrating body, fly free, little dove. For, one day, we shall all fly together to that Timeless, Eternal Place where only Love dwells. You were already There before you left this world...so fly, little dove, and smile down at us, comforting us in our grief.

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, an on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful - lush and green and wide
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright glow pierced the night
"Twas the glow of many candles, shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in it's brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be
We are still connected by a cord no one can see
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

left quickly as I whispered prayers of love into his ear, stroking his beautiful fur for the very last time...
I feel heartbroken and your comfort truly helps...many gracious thanks for your being "there" through thick and thin, Ms. A, and - make no mistake - you have given us far more than you realize. for now i simply cannot see through the tears and shall cry myself to sleep...he is free now, no longer suffering, and for that I may for once enjoy a deep rest myself knowing his sorrows are now over, for him at least...thank you.
I just can't think of the words to say how sad I am for you . . . . dear Calvin, you have been so brave and SO LOVED. And we are all so sorry.

Many gracious thanks to you and yours, Fairy...we feel the Magic, it just goes into a place that hurts too much, except for we knew that between his neglect and starvation and his passing as a result of it, that he brought his own speshul magic into our world as we hope to have brought into his and mainly, that he died feeling loved and knowing how it feels to love in return. Sweet dreams or good morning, Fairy, off to bed without...the ones who soothes us to sleep. We are so tired.

ReplyDeleteI'm feeling such sadness for you, and I'm feeling relief that Calvin is no longer suffering. He was incredibly brave and sweet and loving up until the end. My heart goes out to you, dear friend. You gave him the best life. A life he would have never known without you. He was very special, and even had his own cup! I am sending you big virtual hugs that I hope you can feel. Much love to you and the gp's.

I wish with all my heart, that there were words that could ease this pain. I know there are not. Sweet little Calvin, knows no more pain, and has a beautiful spirit body to run and play in. My prayers and love are with you, my dear friend.

ReplyDeleteWith a heavy heart I read the post about dear sweet Calvin. At least we know he is beyond the bridge with all of our beloved pets who have gone before. They were all waiting for him as he crossed over. And I do believe he is riding on "Shorts" head! Mod pets stick together as we do and Levi probably leads the pack. I send you love and GP kisses. Know that you did EVERYTHING right for Calvin. I only hope we can do as well when the time comes for our precious critters. Love, Linda/artgirl

ReplyDeleteCrying with the loss of one so special. I know you gave each other comfort and love. He learned and felt love and companionship from his cavy crew and they will grieve with you. Calvin may have been small and quiet but his impact was huge. Sending you love and a really tight hug. Lurves you.
