If people only realized the effects of medications on your entire body (brain) and all it's systems. Hey, you must be INCREDIBLY STRONG to have survived them in the first place! You will conquer this!

DeleteActually, I appreciate this comment because, in the words of John Lennon: "Nobody told me there'd be days like this...strange days INDEED!" Doctors threw at least 3 distinctly different classes of meds for seemingly unrelated conditions from chronic, daily migraine to fibromyalgia, seizures, and more. Well: the fibro pain meds TRIGGER SEIZURES, the other pain meds can't be mixed with the migraine meds (triptans) etc. etc. and THREE AMBULANCE RIDES TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND subsequent hospitalizations, not ONE attending physician went over the list and said: "Combining even two of these types of meds can be and has been fatal." NO ONE. They said it was a congenital heart defect which is electrical (Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome) and results of Traumatic Brain Injury but what did I NEVER HEAR: IT WAS THEM! You, Ms. A, sent me Internet links about these meds, YOU MOST LIKELY SAVED MY LIFE, and when I took the info you sent me to my Primary Care Physician, she gasped, (pretended it wasn't a gasp) and said: "You have to stop such and such immediately!) which I did but some of the such-and-suches are harder to get off of than crack, heroin, and yet doctors don't tell us ANY OF IT. You are right, we have to become our own advocates, which is pretty sad...too little too late has probably taken away many lives too young.
DeleteAnd Big Pharma KNOWS! THE KNOW AND COVER IT UP UNTIL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS BY THE FAMILIES OF THEIR VICTIMS HAVE DIED BUT $$$, who cares? They are one of the biggest lobbies in Washington (the D.C. Washington) so who cares? People like you. So, I'll just out you right here and now: if you had not emailed those links to me and these episodes last winter continued, well, "Nobody told me there'd be days like these. STRANGE DAYS INDEED!"
THANK YOU, and thank you to all of my friends who have and continue to support us during this time. You have been and we know you will continue to pick us (O.K. ME) BACK UP WHEN I FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS. They are deep cracks, dark cracks, and times there be when you are pretty sure since you can't see the light at the end of the Tunnel, there ISN'T ANY and those are Dangerous Times, INDEED. And to my friend who asked me never to contact him again because I am too mentally ill, I know you aren't reading this: I am trying my best to forget you ever wrote that and remember the laughs. It's just hard when somebody kicks you the rest of the way down at the most vulnerable moment of the struggle to survive. There, I've spewed. I may actually not delete this, though, because if even one person reads it and discovers their meds are making them sicker than the thing they got them for, hell, I'll consider that worth leaving my rage up for the world to see.
Educate yourselves, my friends, and then get ready to find out who your friends really are. Because sudden cold-turkey withdrawal from physician-prescribed medications for medical conditions would make ANYONE "MENTALLY ILL" and anyway, why hate those who are? People suffering with mental illness suffer. We could lighten up our social labeling and feel compassion instead of running the other way because who, at some point and time in their lives, does not experience grief, loss, or some agony that will bring them to their knees in despair? It's not always mental illness, my special friend, it's called being a spiritual being in a material world. I hope you never fall down, I really do, for if "mentally ill" people scare you so much, what will happen when your friends think you are and abandon you as well?
NOW I'M DONE! (yeah, righty-O!) it hurts. it hurts so much.
