Psychic Octopus Sparks Controversy After Reportedly Picking Spain to Beat Germany - World Cup - NESN.com

Psychic Octopus Sparks Controversy After Reportedly Picking Spain to Beat Germany - World Cup - NESN.com: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

PandaPigSanctuary has issued an official invitation to Paul to take refuge here with the vegan guinea
pigs who would never throw him into a frying pan and would work to find him a mate in one of the
Giant Pacific Octopus Ladies living off our octopus friendly coastline. Paul, your psychic abilities may
not be appreciated in Germany but the Americans never really had a chance, so we'd love to host
you should you care to swim "across the pond" into friendlier waters.

P.S. Please be sure to avoid the Gulf of Mexico. Thank you.

Love,
Pigs for Paul

IT WAS INEVITABLE...

It was inevitable...when Fluffy first went to her forever home it was so quiet and peaceful, plus we piggies regained 100%
of mom's attention...and it was good.

But, mom is known to have delayed reactions to events that overwhelm her. So, knowing this time would come, we hatched
a plan: Raj and Taj agreed to act like they were getting tame by climbing onto mom's lap when they hung out together in our Runabout pen and- for awhile- it worked. But this week mom didn't get out because of being in bed with a migraine, and she didn't have much else to think about... that is never good!

She (O.K. FINE! ALL OF US) recognized how much we really did love that fluffy grey ball of feline fun and sweetness...and we all felt pretty sad this week, missing her an awful lot, to our surprise!

Mom cried, so the Mahals tried even harder to convince her they were tame, crawling up on her lap, letting her brush and grooom them (except Raj freaks when his "tailfeathers" come out in the comb because they are matted) but we all played with mom and purred and popcorned and did not complain about the heat, and let her have her headache without making more than the usual demands...LOVE US MORE, FEED US MORE, PLAY WITH US MORE!

TODAY we are finally feeling better so mom joined us in defiantly messing up the house because for the third or fourth time the "suits" from the (LOL!) "Management Co."  (hee-hee, they are so funny!) have issued yet more inspection notices - although, they have yet to come ONCE - (everything is breaking in our place, every day it's something new) so we are not cleaning up!

Instead, we are now going to bed. And dream of a quiet night of no Harley-Davidson's gunning their engines, no construction noise waking us up, no drummers banging and pounding on their drums and cymbals after
10 p.m., no fireworks in the parking lot directed towards our windows, no calling 911 and not having the intercom work to let them in, dreaming that the elevator will work, the dishwasher will work, the fridge won't go Arctic and freeze all our food again, the kitchen cabinets will not fall off, the electrical outlet will not come completely out of the wall, nobody calls the police for any reason, nobody lurks outside glaring into our windows waiting for a glimpse of mom, and kids dressed like the the terrorists from the Munich massacre do not over-run the parking lot, knock over recycle bins, trash cans, or throw things off the upper floors down at the parked cars taking refuge here. Faux refuge. Not to mention worse things we won't mention.

We residents are going to unite and overthrow the management company and demand certain things!
One day. Maybe.

Special thanks to the Whatcom Fire Department for putting out the "hot spots" of fire simmering in the front entrance to our building on the night of July 4th.  Fortunately, we only saw the rockets aimed at us from the BACK of the building. One can only take so much...

We aren't on Scudder Pond anymore...sigh.

Tonight, right now, we are going to sleep. Tomorrow is another day: sigh.

love, Yum-Yum

MOLLY'S TWO EGGS!

Molly's Box: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

Dear Readers,

Carlos just sent us these photographs of Molly tending to her sweet little eggs and we wanted to share them.
We don't know how many more she will lay because, apparently, McGee has been slackin' off a little on the
food drops... guinea pigs are not owl-o-logists, so we cannot speculate on whether that is normal or not.

If it was me, I'd be bringing her take-out pizza, Chinese, Italian, whatever her big heart desired, so we
could get lots more owlets to decorate California's palm trees...although we don't really know where the
owlies are now that neighboring palm trees are owl-free.

I would have been a great Daddy if mom hadn't snipped my manhood in the prime of my testosterone attacks.

Now we'll never...
(sniff)...know...how great a daddy I coulda been...just because i bite every other guinea pig i can doesn't
mean i would have, well, you KNOW...it's just too hot and that makes us morbid. Forgive us, won't you?

YumYum out, sniffle, too hot, too hot, we're doomed.

WHAT MEANS "SHARE" ?!

MOM MAKES SURE I'M COOL! HEY, YUM-YUM IS ALWAYS COOL!

Mom checks on us a lot to make sure we are not overheating, although we are actually pretty comfortable...
i got a new straw mat to hang out on and watch the Mahals just spread their fat selves out in the hay and pretend to be beautiful. But i have become pretty good buddes with Raj throught the bars of our adjacent cages and am putting up with them a lot better, mom says, and she is proud of me. They have grown big and burly and chase each other and play so much it's like having "Animal Planet" on 24/7, but - like mom and Molly's Owl Box -  i'm kind of liking it...mom had wicked bad migraine today, yet had to keep the windows OPEN
for the breeze while there was a LOUD carpet cleaning cleaning truck just under us, LOUDER construction on the second phase of our apartment complex, AND, the Harley-Davidsons were revving their engines and ROARING FULL SPEED by all day! This WHILST next door to the Harley place is a music store where they (now that we have to keep our windows open) suddenly have an influx of kids determined to learn to play drums as LOUDLY as humanly - though not humanely - possible!
How mom sleeps, nobody knows! must be those new Chinese herbs...i like hanging out with the Mahals while we talk about being "cool pigs in the summertime" before mom wakes up, wanders about like a zombie, makes sure we're good and comfortabale, fed and watered, then tumbles back into her bed full of LOUD CITY NOISE, windows remaining wide open due to our heat wave.  Earplugs no longer work, so she smothers herself with ice packs and listens
to soothing CD's with earbuds, before falling back asleep in pain. Or oblivious, which we prefer, for her sake.

Yesterday we all realized how much we actually do miss Fluffy and mom grieved all day. Which probably
led to the headache, sleep, and utter ZOMBIEFICATION: MOMMY-ZOMBIE! Wanders about wondering why...then finds the bed again and tumbles back into it! Is it wrong to laugh at her?

HOWEVER: Acupuncture and Tai Chi are helping her balance so much there is a chance she may learn to walk again  and we are  excited about that! Since we love to run about and popcorn,  once she learns to walk, we are agreed she will also learn to popcorn with us! She will hop up and down like the jumping
dance her Maasai friend showed her. It's all  hot, sunny, and GOOD.

SO: Stay cool, my friends: JUST be like YumYum: "way cool, all the time! no exeptions!"

Egg #2 Has Arrived « Molly's Box: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

Hi Y'all,

How is everybody enjoying the SUDDEN EMERGENCE OF SUMMER?!

We piggies are surviving the heat quite well, mom was sick in bed and slept ALL DAY except to feed us and make sure our water bottles were full (but we played and played together in our pen last night, so we were tired, too)
AND Molly laid her 2nd egg!

What's an egg?

Molly Lays an Egg « Molly's Box

Molly Lays an Egg « Molly's Box: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

Due to the severity of mom's migraines, she has cut back on watching Molly's Owl Box, but we want to share joyful news HOT OFF THE PRESS that the best owl mom in the whole world has just laid the FIRST EGG
of her second clutch!

MODS are once again with child...that TWEET's gonna hit the fan tomorrow. We just discovered watermelon which we understand because it is delicious on a hot, summer day, but humans baffle us, truly! They want to sit in front of a computer screen and watch an egg?  Why not watch paint dry?

We cavies are watching you, humans, and taking notes! You definitely fascinate. Fortunately, mom is watching what is best for her: US!

Wheek! WATERMELON! SUMMER. HEAT. WARMTH POURING THROUGH OUR WINDOWS.

and Raj is getting tame...oh my!

I AM BECOMING TAME AND NOT SURE HOW I FEEL ABOUT IT...
