"Who can know what effect our smallest acts of kindness may have on others? Perhaps the most important contribution of Mother Teresa, who serves the most destitute and neglected, is that she instills in those who have been abandoned the realization that they too are loved." ~ Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj ~ Panda Pig's Peace Sanctuary exists so that abandoned, neglected, sick, and dying guinea pigs may experience that they, too, are cherished and loved!

MAY WE HAVE A WORD?
DEAR MOM,
RAJ AND TAJ AT THE HELM HERE. Say, YumYum told us that you really keep a nice, tidy home and are a nice, tidy girl.
Um. O.K. Well, two wee, little things:
1. We both need pedicures.
2. Please clean the house, because there is not room for us to run around and sport our beautiful new pedicures.
We think that is all for now.
YumYum says, in all fairness, he thinks it looks this way because we just moved into our new apartment.
But, he also said that about the condo: "Oh, you guys, it just looks this way because we're about to move into our new apartment."
Mom, we're HERE IN THE NEW APARTMENT AND WE WANT TO RUN FREE ACROSS THE FLOOR and SING! Which we cannot do, as all of our near and dear readers can see.
THIS IS OUR NEW APARTMENT - HELP US!
thank you most kindly,
love,
the Mahals

YOGA: UPWARD FACING PIG
Each morning, I practice yoga with Raj and Taj Mahal, who think yoga is Sanskrit for "chase each other and run as fast as you can around your little cardboard house, then relax in Sivasana before fresh veggie breakfast."
Mom joins us, too, when she is able. She gave me this lavendar sheet for my very own yoga mat! Hers is bright orange, as you might recall from the time she used an egg-timer to bring her out of Sivasana in time for a doctor's appointment and it was also the last time because when it went off she nearly went into cardiac arrest. We could've told you mom, that it was not a good idea, but do you ever listen to us?
Still...
Mom says I'm doing beautiful yoga asanas, especially difficult, advanced forward stretches involving wheat grass!
Namaste,
YogiYumYum
P.S. We saw how yoga toes are supposed to look in her magazine and mom said mine were the BEST YOGA TOES!
GUINEA PIGS CONFESS: WE ARE "GLEEKS!" GUINEA-GLEEKS! WE ARE PROUD TO WATCH GLEE AND SING OUR PIGGIE SONGS!
Dear Readers,
We do not have a T.V. but we can watch "GLEE" with mom on the laptop, which has a wide screen and our Auntie Ann (Dom-Dom's Mom) sent us speakers! So now, we watch, we laugh, and - most of all, we sing!
This song is special to us because we are all rescues, once surrendered or just dropped off by "owners"
who did not want us. This leaves a lasting wound of sadness in a little guinea pig's heart, always wondering
what was so unlovable about us that nobody wanted us anymore...until NOW!
SO, when this episode of "GLEE!" came on and Mercedes sang this song to the entire high school in
defiance of the cheerleading coach, we all walked proudly onto the gym floor with her, and we sang, too, as loud as we could! With pride! We regained our self-respect and enjoyed having been invited onto the set
and filmed with the rest of the cast. You can't see us because we are little and the camera would have had
to pan the gym floor and show everybody's sneakers for us to be visible in the scene. But there we were,
and to this day we wake up singing, as we hope you all will, "I AM BEAUTIFUL" because:
we are. each and every one of us, large and small, all beautiful in every single way, like the song says!
MAY WE SEE THE BEAUTY WITHIN THE EYES OF ALL GOD'S CREATURES, AND LOVE LIKE WE HAVE NEVER LOVED BEFORE. BECAUSE THAT, DEAR FRIENDS, IS BEAUTIFUL!
YumYum Out AND LOVING IT!

TODAY WE SEE OUR FIRST CLOWN! GUINEA PIGS DEFINITELY IN THE CITY!
Dear Readers,
Today is a bright, sunny Saturday morning wherein we actually observed a clown stroll by on the street below us.
A Real Clown! Strolling. Down the street. Walking down the sidewalk. This is going to be an interesting place to
view humanity at its most eccentric, methinks! The sun comes out and so do the Clowns. You humans never fail
to fascinate!
love,
YumYum
Really, a clown?!
"MOM! CAN WE BE CLOWNS, TOO?"
"Honey, they don't make clown shoes tiny enough for your little piggie feet and little piggie toes, I'm sorry."
"MAKE US SOME?!"
"You know I can't sew, or cobble, or whatever."
"O.K. then, we'll figure something out. The Mahals and I WANT TO BE CLOWNS!"
"Well, YumYum, you do that, sweetheart, and let me know how it all works out."
"Oh, you'll know! Wait until we get a little car to pack our little clownSelves into: YOU'LL KNOW, MAKE NO MISTAKE,
MOM...YOU. WILL. KNOW!"

WE DON'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE, BUT IT'S ALRIGHT NOW, ALMOST, WELL, IT WILL BE SOON!
Dear Readers,
It is bedtime for me and the Mahals, who have been busily chasing one another around their newly cleaned cage,
so now their newly clean litter is all over mom's floor and they are simply scurrying through their fresh hay with
their long toenails, and Taj has gotten so frisky (un-neutered in spring) that he not only moves their very large
Pigloo across their cage, bringing in so many toys that Raj has to sleep either around the toys or outside the Pigloo,
but now Taj is actually tumping the entire Pigloo over on its side! Who knows how he does that or why, but they
are definitely overdo for a Runabout, no doubt!
Lots to share about our new life but mom has just played with us, held me (she thinks now that I am neutered
there is hope I may become a calm, meditational "lap pig" (NOT!) and then she let me have the run of the place,
not just the bedroom but the whole apartment which was really fun! I quite enjoyed it. Too bad she won't let
the Mahals out with me but her hand is finally healing and...she said "only one pig at a time, if that pig is you!"
How rude! And I behaved on her lap, let her brush me (my fur is still falling out?!) and she even played with
my top-notch, counted the swirls on me to see if I was what they call "show quality" which I am not since none
of my swirls are even, match on both sides, and have regular patterns: WELL, DUH! I AM YUM-YUM, AND
RUFUSE TO EVER BE CLASSIFIED AS REGULAR! Geez, mom. She just did it for fun to show off that she
knew some of the "show standards" for Abyssinian guinea pigs: SHOW OFF! Like, who cares, mom? N.o.b.o.d.y.
As soon as she finds her cameras, we'll start posting photos of our new dwelling...mom still hasn't finished MOVING
yet, but Sunday is the deadline, mover is coming, and it is going to happen whether it breaks her heart or not.
We don't care because this new space has no places mom feels would be dangerous to us so, to reiterate:
WE TAKING OVER ONCE MOVE COMPLETE AND WATCH MOM TRY TO GET US BACK IN OUR CAGES EVER
AGAIN!
GONNA BE GOOD TIMES. FOR US, ANYWAY!
YumYum and Mahals out to hatch plans for a guinea pig coup of the new apartment! (sssshhhh! we only speak of
it in hushed tones.)
YUM-YUM OUT
AND SOON TO BE ALL ABOUT!
Sweet dreams, readers!
