"Who can know what effect our smallest acts of kindness may have on others? Perhaps the most important contribution of Mother Teresa, who serves the most destitute and neglected, is that she instills in those who have been abandoned the realization that they too are loved." ~ Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj ~ Panda Pig's Peace Sanctuary exists so that abandoned, neglected, sick, and dying guinea pigs may experience that they, too, are cherished and loved!

BLOG « Molly's Box
Dear Readers,
Last night was so exciting we all watched Max and Pattison both step out and stretch their wings!
Mom brought us into the living room to watch together, all of us tired but too excited to sleep,
and WOW! Hope you also enjoy the opportunity. The good stuff doesn't start until dark, but it's
The Greatest Show on Earth right now, little owlets ready to fly, but not quite...
mom asked
if we ever feel that way and we all said yes. She said "So do I, nearly every day."
She said the precipice stage is deeply spiritual both for Molly, McGee, the 4 owlets, and
ALL OF US! Ready to fly, but not quite...every day: Each moment we can take flight...
Do we have the courage and faith? We would love to hear from you!
love,
your favorite YumYum in the whole world!

EVERYBODY TO THE LIVING ROOM! MAX IS ABOUT TO FLY! OR NOT.
Dear Readers,
YumYum is letting me blog tonight because we were so excited that mom brought us all into the living room to watch
Molly's Owl box: WOW! YumYum said we're MOD-PIGS now but it's OK because Max and Pattison BOTH came out
on the outside perch and flapped their wings
and we were
certain they were going to fly, but they both went back in, and mom is having us all go to bed "early" even if we miss first
flight! That is so unfair, mom, but we aren't complaining, just, OK, we are complaining...we want to stay up late
and Twitter about carrots like everybody else. What's a rutabaga?
YumYum told us about you dumping our dirty cage litter into the bag with all your Far North camping gear last night
because
you were so tired, and we all felt SO much sympathy, ok, we couldn't have cared less; our cages were clean so what you did
after that did not affect us at all but we were sad you felt ill, ok, we weren't really because then you get real needy and
want to feed us and pet us and let us Runabout because we cheer you up... but we're really sorry you went to say good-bye
to our old place at the Wildlife Sanctuary for the very last time and cried and thanked the place and the beavers and their new lodge and all the owls, and the swallows nesting in the eaves, and - of course - the eagle's nest...ok, not really, we were adopted so recently we couldn't have cared less because we love it here, too, but YumYum said we need to look deeply concerned and willing to be held and petted and offer all the support we could muster since it's been a difficult two months, with the move and
losing you and YumYum's beloved PandaPig and Bear the BeaverPig to cancer last month...
You have all been grieving, but now we are here and that means here for YOU, mom. Really!
We know from YumYum how special they are and how deeply you both loved and were loved by them.
Mom and YumYum, listen up, y'all:
Now WE, Raj and Taj Mahal,
can learn to love and be loved, too. And isn't that the special Grace an animal Sanctuary offers? Second chances for forever love? Or third, or fourth chances, who knows? We just know what "home" feels like for the very first time, and how happiness and love and laughter and mirth, and playfulness feel...YumYum said it is a New Beginning for us all and we believe him because we are so happy, at long last: Trust. Hope. Waking up to love, spending each day bathed in sunshine and the companionship of YumYum, Molly's Owl Box, and mom! Wheeeeek for JOY!
And now we all have a family activity to share together: watching Molly's Owl Box...no, it's not the Wildlife Sanctuary you used to smell, hear, see, touch, and taste when Arctic storms came roaring in from the North...but Here we are cozy and can Twitter about carrots and zombies and watch an extraordinary spectacle few people and guinea pigs have the priveledge to ever experience together: real, live barn owlettes fledging
LIVE ON CAMERA! In our own living room, just all us groovin' to Hork jokes and Carlos's puppet shows.
Admittedly, we feel some apprehension, NEVER wanting to end up as hork, OF COURSE!...but no barn owls LIVE HERE IN THE APARTMENT WITH US so we're pretty ok with Molly's Owl Box, indeed,
we watch United as one big, happy Sanctuary family and eat carrots so dear to Carlos.
To you dear readers who are not following mom's addiction (now ours, too) to Molly's Owl Box, this post may seem
unintelligable, since it's all OwlSpeak. We invite you to tune in and learn the lingo!
G'night, mates,
and
sweet dreams to each and every one of you who visit PandaPigSanctuary. We care about you.
love,
raja (my formal name)mahal
MOM HAS "MOD" BAD! (Molly Obsessive Disorder) for you Newbies to Molly's Owl Box
Good morning, dear Readers,
well, you can see our bright, shiny (as our dear spiritual friend, am, put it) "Divine Chaos" remains as beautiful as ever!
why?
i'll tell you!
mom is so addicted now to Molly's Owl Box and waiting for Max/Maxine or someone, anyone, to take their first flight,
that late last night, she made the Big Boo-Boo: after Molly brought a gargantuan rodent (?!steroid use among California
rodents rampant in spring) to the Owlets, she finally logged off to clean our cages and feed us our nightly hay.
since we ran out of boxes during the move, lots of our friends just started stuffing stuff into big, black garbage bags.
good stuff, camping gear, Arctic boots for the North Pole, things mom will definitely be using a lot. (not.)
important things for sub-zero freezing temps and windchills like 80 degrees below zero, for her trip to Antarctica.
in her wheelchair, with skis attached, and a team of dogs...
but i digress...she was so tired from Owl Vigil and Twittering (the feed goes about 90mph when Max appears
poised and ready to either fly or be pushed out by siblings tired of him hogging all the food)
so she had a big load of litter full of our favorite things, poo, pee, and piggie detritus, like the hork in the Owl Box.
where did she dump it?
shall we allow you to speculate?
just think: big, black garbage bag...north pole, get how much this Owl Box has rocked our world?
today: her big Clean-Up!
those owls better fly so we can get more attention and she stops throwing piggie poo and litter hither and thither...
else a time may come when she just dumps everything on the floor, figuring that nobody gonna notice at this point,
anyway...
except during Downward Dog when one's little head fur lands in a pile o'poo!
MOM!
love as always,
gentle YumYum

Dear Friends,
Mom is now attached to Molly's Owl Box as millions (literally) wait for Max (now Maxine) and siblings
to take first flight. The Twitter feed is so fast that nobody could even read it last night! Everybody who
has ever watched them is TOTALLY ADDICTED! Here's a radio interview with background straight
from Carlos himself back when the eggs were still hatching!

RAJ MAHAL WANTS TO BE A YOGA GUY, TOO!
YumYum here. G'morning. Mom stayed up WAY too late last night
watching Molly's Owl Box because Max is ready to fly the coop and
all the MODS (humans with Molly Obsessive Disorder) want to be
there when it happens. For some reason (maybe, mom, because it
was AFTER MIDNIGHT?!) she joined the Twittering and apparently, from
what she told us at breakfast, contributed a great deal of her wildlife
knowledge Twittering about zombies not being able to run because
the film-maker who created Zombies did not give them bones and
if they don't have bones in their ankles they cannot run after people
like modern-day Zombies...this gleaned from an interview mom
heard on NPR with the original Zombie creator of horror movies.
That must be some interesting Owl Box after midnight! Not to
mention that the oldest owl, Max, underwent a sex change at some
point and has become Maxine. Mom calls him/her "AlphaGirl"
because she cannot bear the name Maxine after knowing him as
Max for so long. Well, we got our twilight Runabout last night and
were all asleep for the Zombie Vigil to see if Max/ine would fly.
She gobbled up what Molly and McGee brought, but no flying. Yet.
For those dear readers wondering what we're talking about, a link
to Molly's Owl Box can be found at the top of our blog. It's wonderful!
However, I digress, Raj Mahal saw me doing yoga with mom and thinks he would be an excellent YogaPig because he is
very long, lithe, and slithery (he's very hard for mom to capture after Runabout because he can compress into a snake-like
slithery, slidey, slippery thing and wriggle away...that long, sleek, soft fur gives him "NO-CAN-CATCH-ME" lubrication) THUS,
Our Dear Raj Mahal
has become adroit at lengthening both himself and the duration of his Runabouts!
Mom gives us Twilight Runabouts so she can clean our cages without us in them.
Treats and cardboard boxes to chew on, run through, popcorn out of and: A WORLD OF FUN FOR
EVERYONE, even if she won't let me out (EVER AGAIN!) with the Mahals, so I can only Runabout by myself since she has no parts of her hand unbitten by me. She wears her scars like Happy Tattoos of ME!
Out of love for Raj, I am posting this video on how to behave in groups of yogis since mom and me are a duo but Raj joining makes us a group, and Raj needs to know there is etiquette in Yoga.
Raj, this link will teach you everything you need to know. AND EVERYTHING MOM DOES NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW!
ENJOY.
P.S. Don't nobody tell Raj I'm punkin' him because when mom catches our dignified, beautiful Raj doing yoga like this guy it'll be a LAUGH-RIOT for YUM-YUM, me!
NOW: TO THE YOGA MAT! Give us a Sun Salutation because that bright thing is out AGAIN TODAY!
Bye for now and Namaste to Susan, Amanda, and all mom's yoga friends. Will you all now welcome Raj Mahal, the
Inappropriate YogaPig?! (hee-hee)
