MOM, IS THAT A REAL PARADE OUT OUR WINDOW?!

Dear Readers,

As you can see, we are not on Scudder Pond anymore. Last night we
"enjoyed" a live Parade right out our west-facing big picture window!

And, out of our south-facing picture window we enjoyed our neighbors
out on the deck walkways also "enjoying" the Parade.

It was the junior "Ski to Sea Parade." Next week will be THE EVEN BIGGER, WAY L.O.U.D.E.R. adult parade. Edwin was in it once, with the speedskating float.

We are rapidly becoming veteran  "Pigs In The City" with more parades to come since all Bellinghamsters
do throughout our very, way-too-short summers is hold festivals, parades, races:  anything and everything outdoors! Involving beer, always with the beer. We only drink water out our sippy bottles, and the hardest thing mom drinks is an Odwalla protein shake.  Bellinghamsters know there is a very short window of sunlight during which to party, so summer is always full of downtown excitement.  And we, apparently, have season tickets for front-row box seats right here in our own living room!  OOOhhhhh, makes us want to scamper and shout "Yahoooooo!" before begging mom for wheatgrass with loud, high-pitched (Taj, Holy !#%?)
shrieks of "WWWWWhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeK!" Taj is a soprano, and if mom isn't right on it,
he'll scream up a high C note that could break a glass bottle and pop out your eardrums...we love it!
Watch mom scamper once Taj escalates his shrieks, from a middle-C warning to the ear-splitting sound
of a space ship tearing through the sound barrier in our own kitchen.  Never met a high soprano before Taj.

Mom copes by staying tuned to Molly's Owl Box, where she learned to
TWITTER...unfortunately, she recently discovered that numerous Zombie fans and sites (whose names we refuse to allow here, they are dreadful!) are now following her on TWITTER.  Ever since her authoritative sermon about Zombies (plagiarized entirely from an NPR interview with the originator of B&W zombie movies)  mom has been attracting zombie fans following  her on TWITTER...hmmmmm?!

It's just odd to us, because mom has also joined MODS in discussions on numerous other topics...and, yet, the only ones devoted to hanging on her every word are Zombies...oh, and the one Bengals football team
fanster who thought (when MODS were describing their Bengal cats) that mom was also a rabid Bengals fan (the football team, not the cats.)  She seems only to attract...how can we say this politely, let's see? Oh, we can't, so we won't: other to imply her followers are probably not folks we would ever invite over for Odwallas. E.V.E.R.

(NOTE FROM EDITOR: Tragically, this is true.)

Is that good? We don't analyze the news, just report it. Even if it gets weirder by the day! Which, and trust me on this: IT DOES...is mom morphing into a moron? Stay tuned, dear reader, because we are all eager to find out! Oops, gotta run! Mom coming now to check into Molly's Owl Box pre-Dusk TWITTER fest.

YumYum has left the building!

(NOTE FROM EDITOR: no, he hasn't; YumYum is hopping up and down in his brightly colored ferret sleeping bag, which seems an odd place to hop, but who are we to judge a cavy's choice of hoppy places?!!)

As long as he never hops away, we are happy!  Even if the city has turned mom into a moron!

SAN MARCOS: Owlets test their wings in preparation for departure

SAN MARCOS: Owlets test their wings in preparation for departure

All us piggies and mom already having "empty nest" feelings...we have become accustomed to the owlsies'
hissing and hopping and bopping and flopping but now that they are flying, all but Wes, we are
starting to want to fly, too.

mom, can guinea pigs fly?

"no, dear."

"MOM!"

WOWL, IT WAS A DARK AND OWLY NIGHT!

BLOG « Molly's Box
Poem by Taj Mahal,
inspired by Molly's Owl Box last night:

"Twas a Dark and Owly Night"

by Taj Mahal, guinea pig poet, please enjoy:
*********************************

"i spy with my little eye

three fuzzy-wuzzies all up High:

we hop, we flap, we even FLY -

hope you can feel us kiss the SKY!"

(EDITOR'S NOTE: THIS IS TAJ'S FIRST POEM.)

while writing this poem, YumYum encouraged Taj by hopping up and down inside his sleeping bag.

we feel it really helped.

WHEN WE LOOK DOWN AT FRONT GATE

Dear Readers,

From our floor up in the stratosphere extends a deck from which we can look straight down at our front gate.

This is what we see.

It is very different from what we are used to seeing.

So, mainly we look up.

At the sky.

Which is the same sky we are used to seeing, full of clouds wafting overhead teasing us with their Power to rain,
hail, snow, drop ice pellets, or simply drift off and leave the Sun Shining liquid Happiness through our many
windows! We have South West facing windows, so when the Clouds have Mercy, Liquid Sunshine pours through
them to brighten our day (and mom's mood!) with Holy Bright Light!

For some reason, the Clouds have been mischievous this spring and are pretending it is November instead of May.

We may need to face them up-close-and-personal to politely request they respect the season, since our summers
are only three months long to begin with...and spring (not to mention summer!) seems not yet to have begun.

So, clouds, we are asking politely...please, please go away and come back on another day, like next year, OK?

Respectfully Yours,

Yum, Raj and Taj Mahal

p.s. we aren't kidding!

HOLY WOWL! LAST NIGHT WAS A THREE-FOR-ALL!

Dear Readers,

Now all 3 of us pigulas are as addicted to Molly's Owl Box as mom (just took awhile to realize they were not going to eat us because we have such acute senses and at first thought they were in the new apartment)

And last night, Austin, owlet #3 just TOOK OFF! Surprised us all, no hesitation, no hop-flapping, noooo
WORRIES: to quote our Jimi Hendrix, Austin just sang:

"'Scuse me, while I touch the sky..." and simply took off...and then disappeared below the screen so
all the MODS absolutely freaked out and we thought they were funny: humans!

No faith in us, whatsoever. We have instincts, people, we were born to KNOW THINGS! Or taught by mom, dad, and each other, especially in a herd we teach each other how to scatter litter OUT THE BOX during our frantic NASCAR race-chases and suchlike games. Mom had to get a lightweight vacuum we got so good at
our LitterScatterGame! In fact, she was so tired of sleeping with it in her bed, she moved us into the living room...MOM!

back to Molly's Owl Box:

That leaves only little, fluffy Wesley now...who gets to enjoy his meals all to himself now that the other
three are out of the box when mom and dad bring din-din! We think Wesley is guinea pig #1 FAVE OWL.

Who is YOUR fave owlet?

YumYum off to the morning HayPile!

Toronto breaking news/twitter/CANADA - Have you heard/watched Molly's "OWLBOX" yet, it's very cool....

Toronto breaking news/twitter/CANADA - Have you heard/watched Molly's "OWLBOX" yet, it's very cool....

Molly is now "Breaking News" in Toronto, Canada, and we feel this kind of news makes our world happier!

Also, mom has been spending time with Taj Mahal on her lap and we now feel he has "lap-pig" potential,
especially once the Mahals are neutered...mom says he is very, very soft, that both Mahals seem to be
"silkies" and even though I may not be a "silkie" being YumYum is good enough for ME!

Mom says better than "good enough" that I am WONDERFUL.

Even if I am not breaking news in Toronto, I am always breaking things here in Bellingham!

love,

YumYum

p.s. we are having winter storms here like crazy, and last night felt like November! Raja said because we
moved from Wildlife Sanctuary to city and Nature throwing a temper tantrum....dunno, just that mom
nearly got blown off her walker last night when the wind whipped inside the hood of her jacket, turning
it into a parachute! You should've seen her hair! Maybe not...like zombie hair.

See you's guys later!
